We are planning on going the week of Aug. 16. How are the crowds and weather during that time.

Hi Kim!  Being from Wisconsin, you might truly enjoy the summer heat of Florida in August!

The average high temperatures for this month are around 90 degrees and the average lows are about 73 degrees.  These are averages but it does give you an idea of the weather you will encounter.  Please also realize that Florida is quite humid and even on a "cool" day it will seem much warmer. AVerage rainfall for August is around 5.8 inches.  It is typical for rain showers and or thunder storms to arrive in the afternoons.  The good news is that on most days they are quick to come and quick to leave.  Often they clear parks out enough to make lines much shorter so if you can handle it I would suggest you try staying.

The crowd levels at this time of year are still from average and moderate crowds to very crowded.  You will be right on the fringe of families heading home for their children to start a new year of school.  Obviously Disney is the most crowded when the kids are on vacation so summer is a busy time.  Be sure to make your dining reservations 90 days out from your arrival and have a general plan for the time you will be at Disney. This is especially important when the parks are more crowded.  Know what rides use the FAST PASS system and be knowledgable of this.

It doesn't matter what the weather may be or how many people are sharing the parks with will see the Disney magic in action!
