    We're planning a WDW vacation days after Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens. My daughter is finally old enough to participate in Jedi Training this year with her big brother. Will sign ups begin at 6:00 a.m. when the park opens, or at a later time?

    Hi, Tamara!  The Force is strong with the Disney Parks Moms Panel as we await the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  I'm sure your family is really looking forward to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during this exciting time.

    It was recently announced that there would be extra, Extra Magic Hours at the Walt Disney World Resort this fall.  In order to accommodate the many guests eager to live out their very own Star Wars adventure, Disney's Hollywood Studios will open at 6:00 a.m. on August 29-31, 2019.  From September 1- November 2, 2019, Disney's Hollywood Studios will have extra, Extra Magic Hours for Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.  During this time, guests can experience Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, and select other attractions.  Please note that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge access is subject to capacity restrictions.

    While quite a bit of information about the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has been released lately, there are still a lot of details that we do not yet know.  As Master Yoda would say, "The Dark Side clouds everything.  Impossible to see the future is."  One of those details that I have not yet heard is how extra, Extra Magic Hours will affect sign-ups for Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.  Recruitment of Force-sensitive children usually begins as soon as the park opens, and I have a feeling there will be many younglings wishing to participate in Jedi training this fall.  Therefore, I would recommend that you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios prior to 6:00 a.m.  Upon arrival, check with a Cast Member to find out exactly when sign-ups will begin.

    I loved cheering on my own daughter as she fearlessly defeated the Dark Side when she participated in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple a few years ago.  I hope your younglings will be able to train in the ways of the Jedi as well.  In the meantime, be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news and announcements regarding the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
