We are planning a WDW vacation the day after Thanksgiving for 4 adults and a 7-year old grandson. Have looked at the following: Polynesian, Port Orleans Riverside, and Coronado Springs. What are the advantages and/or disadvantages of one over another?

Hi from PA! The resorts you are looking at are all very nice.

    Polynesian
The Polynesian is a magical resort!

Advantages - monorail access to Magic Kingdom (MK) and Epcot. Boat access to MK. Rooms are very large and recently renovated. Access to table service dining at Polynesian, Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. Volcano pool is beautiful. Watching fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the beach is memorable. Cast Members have a delightful Polynesian friendliness.

Disadvantages - lack of food court, higher cost.

    Port Orleans Riverside
Most rooms have two double beds, however there are some rooms with an additional trundle bed that will accommodate a small child. The trundle bed rooms are only found in the Alligator Bayou section

Advantages - A nice moderate resort with many amenities. Boat transportation to Downtown Disney is fun. One table service restaurant. Food court. Marina. Large pool.

Disadvantages - Large resort makes for long walks to food court and other amenities unless you pay for a premium room. Many bus stops makes for longer rides to the theme parks. Transportation to theme parks is only via bus.

    Coronado Springs
I recently stayed at Coronado Springs. It is beautiful but I found the resort to be quite vast.  While the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas buildings are set around a beautiful lake, there is not one building that is convenient to every thing.

Advantages - A nice moderate resort with many amenities. Food court has many options. Pool is well-themed with nearby Pool Bar which also serves food. Playground, restrooms and changing rooms are convenient to the pool.

Disadvantages - transportation is only by bus. Very large resort makes for long walks to food court ,etc. unless you pay for a premium room. Convention center brings in lots of business people so that it sometimes detracts from the “vacation” feel with guests walking around in business attire.

    Happy Planning!
