Hi! I am planning a WDW trip in June 2023 with a friend of mine. They've never been to Disney and do NOT have an MDE account. I've had one for years. It is easier for me to add them to my MDE or have them create their own account? Thanks!

    Hey there, Marianne!

Thanks for dropping by with your question. I love welcoming a fellow resident of the Keystone state to planDisney! How exciting that you'll be introducing a friend to the Most Magical Place on Earth this summer. I love sharing my love of Walt Disney World with my favorite people. A couple of years ago I took five of my girlfriends to Walt Disney World and we still reminisce about how it was the best time ever!

Now, Marianne, let's talk about your June vacation. My best advice is to have your friend create their own My Disney Experience account and then connect via My Family & Friends so that you can manage all of the plans including assigning tickets, making dining reservations, and extras like purchasing Disney Genie+.

Once they have set up an account, you can connect with them by visiting the "My Family & Friends" tab and clicking on "Add a Guest" or through the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

When using the Mobile App to connect, begin by clicking on the three horizontal bars in the lower right corner. Scroll down until you see "My Profile." There are two ways to connect. First, at the bottom of this page, there is an option to "Show My Linking Code." When you click on that, a QR code will pop up that your friend can scan to automatically add you to their list (if they have installed the My Disney Experience Mobile App). A second way to connect also begins on the "My Profile" page of the Mobile App. At the top of that page, you'll see an option at the top of the screen to toggle to "Family & Friends List." When you scroll down, you'll see the option to "Add a Guest."

Marianne, I hope this helps as you're looking ahead to summer and your friend's 1st visit. Make sure to stop by a Guest Relations location (or the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel) to pick up a complimentary 1st visit button for your friend!

If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where the only thing we love more than pixie-dusted trips is helping others experience the Magic.
