We are planning a WDW trip in 2020. I heard that you will be able to choose a character magic band (for a reduced fee) with a Disney vacation package. Have you heard that?

    Hi Shelley,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian.

Yes, you heard right! The Disney Parks Blog recently announced that there will be new MagicBand upgrade options that are going to be available really soon for Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort. There are so many cute character designs, it’s going to be hard to pick just one… Looks like I’ll have to visit several times to collect them all!

From what I can see, that option isn’t “live” in the My MagicBands and Cards section of My Disney Experience quite yet. When it is, I understand that the options for Canadian Residents will be the same as they’ve always been: because MagicBands can’t be shipped outside of the United States, you’ll be able to pick up any customized and upgraded MagicBands that you may have ordered at the Front Desk when you check into to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. And have fun customizing your MagicBand!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
