We are planning a WDW trip in August with my in-laws. We are a separate DDP than my in-laws. We are doing a Parents Nite Out and my in-laws are watching the children. If they go to dinner with my kids, how would the kids use the dining plan?

Hi Patricia!  How lucky for you and your husband to have your family members along to watch your kids - you will be able to have a lovely night to yourselves knowing they are well taken care of!  The Disney Dining Plan credits are attached to each member of your party's Key To The World Card.  You will want to give your in-laws your kids' Key To The World Cards when you leave them.  This way, your in-laws can give the server their card to take their Dining Plan credits from, and then the card to take the children's Dining Plan credits from.  Just tell your in-laws to mention to the server when they are ordering that there will be 2 separate Dining Plans being used.

I hope this helps to clarify things.  I wish you and your husband a most magical date-night, and I hope your kids and in-laws have fun together as well!  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
