Been planning our 9/4 - 9/19 WDW staying at POR, for a year now. My husband injured his back and may not have surgery before our arrival. May need wheelchair on bad days, do I need to call resort and request wheelchair room in advance? Thanks

    Hi Alisa.

It would definitely be a good idea to call and have your Resort Room Reservation include a notation requesting a Wheelchair Accessible Room so that you know you'll have the extra space for manoeuvering if it is required. Closer to the date of your trip you can always call back in to have it changed if it should end up that you don't require it after all. To have this request notated on your Resort Reservation, simply call (407) 939-7675 and speak with Cast Member.

Should you need to rent a wheelchair at Walt Disney World during your stay, you may do so at the Disney Theme Parks as well as at Downtown Disney. You'll find complete information regarding locations and pricing of rentals on the Guest Services - Wheelchair Rentals page of the Walt Disney World website, for which I've provided you a link.

I hope that you husband is feeling well by the time of your trip!
Please don't hesitate to visit me again if I can be of further assistance to you in your planning.

Wishing you a simply Magical trip to Walt Disney World Alisa!
