Lana from MI Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We are planning to be at WDW in February 2020 with 2 boys (12 and 14 years of age). Can we do 2 Parks in one day - specifically Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom? What time should we get there (7 am or 7:30). Parks open at 8:00 am.

    Hi Lana,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine the excitement in your household as you countdown the days until your trip!

I am happy to report that I have faith in your ability to do two parks in one day, especially given the age of your boys. My girls are about the same age and they are able to do multiple parks in one day! I would just caution you to double check the park hours just before your visit to make sure they have not changed and be aware of the closing hours for each park. If the hours remain the same, it looks like both parks may actually open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. on the dates of your visit. Now, let us talk strategy.

Be sure that you have purchased your theme park tickets and that you have linked those tickets to a My Disney Experience Account. If you are new to My Disney Experience, make sure that you have connected all of your Family & Friends in your account. Then you can link each person's ticket. Linking your tickets in My Disney Experience is critical!

Once your tickets are linked, then you can make Fast Pass+ selections for everyone. Since you are going to two parks, be advised that you can make up to three Fast Pass+ selections in advance at one park. I suggest making them at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Our girls love Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kali River Rapids, and Avatar Flight of Passage. Since Fast Pass+ selections for Avatar Flight of Passage can be difficult to obtain, try securing one for Kilimanjaro Safaris.

As you plan your arrival to Disney's Hollywood Studios, keep in mind that there may still be a boarding group process for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. If so, be sure to arrive at the park and clear security 30 minutes prior to park opening. Use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to join a boarding group right at park opening. Joining a boarding group puts you into a virtual queue for the attraction. Once it is time for your boarding group to board, you will receive a notification via the mobile app. Once you have joined your boarding group, check the wait times on the My Disney Experience Mobile App and decide what to do next. Depending on the wait times, I encourage you to ride Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania! in Toy Story Land, hop on Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, and then make your way back to experience Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Lana, battling the First Order can be exhausting. Be sure to make plans to eat. Try Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo while on Batuu and stop in Oga's Cantina to share a beverage with a few of our Resistance friends. Oga's is a popular stop, so I suggest that you reserve some time and space. We just returned from Batuu and know that our friends in the Resistance could use your help. We wish you safe transport!

    Good journey,
