I am planning on visiting the WDW resort mid-May 2013 what is estimated weather and attendance this time? Which would you pick Disney's Beach Club or Yacht Club Resort?

    Hi Steven!

May temperatures in Orlando average around the upper 70's during the month of May. Definitely a "short-sleeve-shirt-and-shorts" kind of weather. The evenings can get down to mid-60's, which may be cooler (light jacket or sweater) depending on what part of the country you're coming from. I couldn't tell you the exact attendance numbers, but mid-May is probably moderate in attendance (expect those numbers to inflate some on weekends and Memorial Day).

As for resort, both Beach Club and Yacht Club are fantastically elegant resorts, they are very similar in most of their amenities, and share a number of things (such as the mini-water park Stormalong Bay, which sits in the middle of the 2 resorts). The Yacht Club resort is considered slightly more upscale than the Beach Club, is larger than the Beach Club, and has the fantastic Yachtman's Steakhouse. The Beach Club has been known to be somewhat more kid-friendly, and has the Cape May restaurant, which is also great food and character dining.

So, you really can't go wrong with either. If you're traveling with children, you may want to go with the Beach Club. Otherwise, take the Yacht Club.

    Have a good one!
