We are planning on visiting Magic Kingdom in May with our 2 year old. He normally takes an afternoon nap that lasts about 3-4 hours. We wanted to be able to go back to the hotel for this nap time. Which hotel is the quickest to get back and forth from?

Hi Heather! What a wonderful trip you have to look forward to in May. The memories you will make with your two year old will be priceless!

Traveling with younger children who don't have the stamina to go all day can be rough unless you have a plan in place. Heading back to the resort for a mid day nap is the best advice possible. There are three deluxe resorts that are located within view of the Magic Kingdom park. All three of these are connected to the park via a monorail system. Of the three the easiest to go to and from is the Contemporary Resort. This is the only resort where you can actually walk to and from the Magic Kingdom. You also have the option for the monorail but it is nice to know you can stroll and walk if the monorail is delayed for some reason.

The rooms all have nice balconies so you can enjoy sitting out there during the nap time if you prefer. The rooms are quite large and it is one of my favorite places as far as room size and certainly location. Right next door is the Disney Vacation Club Bay Lake Tower building that will also rent to non DVC guests if there are rooms available. It is good to check on those as they come with small kitchens and have different configurations including a one bedroom which separates the sleeping area for your child.

I hope you will find something available at one of these locations for your May trip. They are popular but openings can happen at any time. Have a great trip and if there is anything else we can help you with let us know.
