We are planning on visiting Disney World May 17th - 24th of this year. Will the wildfires that are going on right now affect our trip to Disney. I am not that familiar with Florida and how far the reported fires are from the Orlando area.

Hi Tracy.    You are correct that unfortunately there have been some wildfires spread across Florida.   Based upon the updates we hear, the good news is that with all the great efforts of our local firemen many blazes are coming under control.

I have personally not heard of any fires in the close proximity of Disney World.   The largest blaze was noted in Palm Bay, which is more than an hour southeast of the Orlando area.   Hopefully, with a few extra days until you visit, they will get all the fires taken care of.   Enjoy your visit, the weather this week here in Florida has been terrific!
