Planning on visiting Disney world in December this year for daughter's 5th bday. Not purchasing any dining plan and only purchasing 3 day theme parks. Want to reserve character dining, do I need to book at specific park that restaurant is in?

    Hi Hazel,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  How wonderful to be visiting Walt Disney World for your daughter's fifth birthday!

There are many options for character dining at Walt Disney World.  There are options both inside of theme parks, such as The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park, and outside of the theme parks, such as Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort.  If you choose to go to a location inside of a theme park, you will need theme park admission for that day.  So just be sure that if you choose a character dining experience inside of a theme park, that it is on a day that you plan to be in the theme parks.  There is no need to state up front which theme park you will visit on any given day as your three-day tickets will be good at any of the Disney theme parks.  If you decide to do a character dining experience on a day that you are not going to visit a theme park, just be sure to book it at one of the restaurants that is not in a theme park.  The website that I linked lists for each character dining experience where it is located.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Hazel!  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
