We are planning to visit WDW in 2009 and are wondering which of the following weeks are the least busy: Oct. 18-23, Oct. 25-31 (I understand this is a holiday time for British & Welsh kids), Oct. 31-Nov 7, or Nov. 7-13 are the dates we can come.

Dianne it is always a popular question to the panel about when will the parks be the least crowded.  It is impossible to know for sure since all the information is developed from previous years attendance. So with that in mind this is the best suggestion I can offer.  The first three weeks you mentioned are during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.  This is a very popular event that takes place every fall and although the activities are primarily held at EPCOT it does draw guests to all the parks.  To find less crowds your best bet might be the last week you listed, November 7-13 as the Festival has ended and the next major American holiday isn't until Thanksgiving.

By coming at that date you will miss a wonderful event that takes place through-out October and that is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is held on certain nights at the Magic Kingdom and requires a separate ticket.  Guests are encouraged to come dressed for Halloween and enjoy the park while trick or treating from land to land.  Most Extra Magic Hour rides and attractions are open as well as special entertainment and a very special fireworks show that night.  The evening parade is even complete with the Headless Horseman riding on his steed down Main Street.

Consider both options and decide which seems the best for you and your family.  The Halloween party schedule will not be published until early summer but by looking at  past years any of the weeks you choose in October will have several days where the party is offered.  When the schedule is out please know you must get your tickets reserved to assure you are able to attend the night you choose.
