We're now planning to visit WDW in Sept. 2011. We like the Carribean Beach Resort and Coronado Springs. Do you prefer one over the other? Both sound like big properties, so is a preferred room a must? Does a Convention Center make the one too busy? Thanks!

Hi Jim!  I actually just answered another question comparing these two Disney resorts.  It is obviously a personal preference when choosing a place to stay for your vacation but I will share the reasons why I enjoy Coronado Springs over the Caribbean Beach!

Both resorts are in the moderate category so they will have comparable recreation and amenities.  Both are large and somewhat spread out but I prefer the Coronado as you can easily walk around the lake to reach all areas.  It also has a main building that is easily accessible where you will find the lobby, concierges, bell staff, shop, and dining areas.  Caribbean Beach does not have a central lobby as it is isolated far from the rooms.

I actually find it a plus that the Coronado Springs is a convention resort.  During the day when you might want to use the facilities the convention guests will all be in meetings and most likely not using the public areas.  Another plus for being a convention facility is there will be a great business center and a health club and salon for all guests to use.

Last but not least is that the rooms at the Coronado Springs resort will all contain queen beds and it is the only moderate that can boast this fact!  Good luck with your decision!
