I am planning a visit to WDW in October for the Mickeys Halloween Party. I am travelling with my two sons, ages 8 and 5. I'm trying to decide between the following resorts: AKL, CSR or AOA. The AKL is our first choice, but would also like to stay on budget

    Hi Kimberly,

You'll love Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - it's one of my favorite events at Walt Disney World.

I've stayed at all three of those resorts, and you really can't go wrong. If you have room in your budget, I'd definitely recommend getting a savanna-view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, especially if your sons like animals. It's really a great experience that you can't get anywhere else. However, it's definitely a splurge, and if you are trying to stay on budget it may not be the best option.

We also really love Disney's Art of Animation. Although it's a value resort, I think it's actually my kids' favorite resort on property. The theme is so fun and the resort itself is lively and bright. We found it to be surprisingly convenient too - the transportation was quick and easy to take.

While Coronado Springs Resort is also beautiful, I find that theme to be less fun for little kids. It's also a big convention hotel, so it's got a different feel to it. I still really like it, but I'd probably recommend the Art of Animation over Coronado Springs for your family.

I hope that helps you make a decision. Have a great vacation!
