We are planning to visit WDW in mid-May 2015 to celebrate my son's 4th birthday. What weather conditions can we expect, including levels of humidity? We visited once in late June and it was too hot for our toddler. Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Hi Donna ~

Walt Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate a 4th birthday! Be sure to pick up a free "Happy Birthday" button for your son at your Walt Disney Resort hotel or any theme park Guest Relations location. It is a great souvenEAR and you never know what pixie dust will come his way.

The temperatures usually start to climb in Orlando in May. The average high temperature in May is in the upper-80s and the average low is in the mid-60s. For my thin Georgia skin, that means I may need a light jacket in the evening but you may be fine without one. I always take a light jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt in case it is chilly in restaurants and the hotel.

Orlando usually gets a little over 3 1/2 inches of rain during the month of May. Just in case, I would pack ponchos or umbrellas and shoes that you don't mind getting wet and dries quickly.

The humidity typically ranges from around 41% at the beginning of the month of May to 92% towards the end of May. I have visited Walt Disney World every month of the year and have found May to be pretty pleasant right before the hot months of summer kick in.

Keep in mind that these are averages and you never know what kind of crazy weather pattern could come through. Be sure to check the 10-day forecast online before you finish your final packing.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We will be hEAR for you up until you embark on your pixie dusted trail!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
