We are planning to visit WDW in May 2011 and are traveling with friends. We plan to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and was wondering if there will be problems trying to get rooms next to each other when booking separately.

    Hi Sandy,

The Caribbean Beach Resort is large and spread-out, so you are right to be concerned about getting rooms near each other. If there are more than 8 people between your 2 families, your best bet is to have your reservations designated as part of a Grand Gathering. Call the Grand Gathering Travel Planners at 407-WDW-PLAN and they can set you up with a number for your group. That number will be on both of your reservations and will "link" you together in the system. This will notify the front desk that you are traveling together. Even then, I would still call the Resort 9 days prior to arrival at (407) 934-3400. They get their arrival lists at that time, so to call sooner wouldn't prove successful. Ask to speak with the "Room Assigner" and inform him/her that you are traveling with friends and want to have adjoining rooms. While they can't guarantee that you will be right next to each other, they do their best to honor requests and you should be fairly close.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful vacation,
