Hi Karen!
I absolutely recommend resort hopping! A few of my favorite during the holiday season are the Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge and the Yacht and Beach Club.
The Grand Floridian lobby is just stunning with the center piece being an extremely tall Christmas tree. (Makes for a great family photo!) What is really special about this resort is the
life sized gingerbread house that is made from scratch by Disney pastry chef's. You can walk all around it and even purchase some goodies to take with you! For a great view of it, go to the second floor balcony and look down.
The Wilderness Lodge also has an enormous tree right in the center of the lobby. This is one of my favorite resort lobby's, so the decorations make it even more magnificent.
The Beach Club is special because it features a
life sized edible carousel! After you browse around the lobby, you can walk over to the Boardwalk for some delicious snacks from the bakery or rent a surrey bike to explore the Boardwalk area. There are lots of shops, restaurants and activities that make for a fun non-park day.
What I like to do on a non-park day is visit
Downtown Disney for some window (and real) shopping. There is a Christmas shop there where you can personalize an ornament for your family. It is wall to wall ornaments and decorations for you to pick from. We get an ornament every year for our family here.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
