We are planning to visit WDW in late January. Can you explain what the new Star Wars land includes? do we need to make a reservation of sorts just to enter the land and are the 2 rides there included in the fast pass options?

Hi, Pamela!  Or as they say on the planet Batuu, "Bright suns!"

I am so excited that you will have the opportunity to travel to Batuu and live out your very own Star Wars adventure when you visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  I had the opportunity to experience this immersive new land shortly after it opened, and as a lifelong Star Wars fan, it was like a childhood dream come true!

By the time you travel to a galaxy far, far away, both Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attractions will be open.  Please be aware that at this time, FastPass+ is not available for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.  When Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens in December, it is not expected to offer FastPass+ either.  From what we have observed so far, the absence of FastPass+ at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has kept the standby queue moving along nicely.  Wait times for this popular attraction have been quite manageable.

In addition to the attractions at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, guests are also able to explore the marketplace of Black Spire Outpost where they can shop for goods from local merchants and sample the unique cuisine.  Please be aware that there are a few experiences at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge that require reservations.  Reservations for Oga's Cantina, Droid Depot, and Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers can be made up to 180 days in advance.

You do not need a reservation to enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  If the land would happen to reach capacity, you would need to sign up for a boarding group using your My Disney Experience mobile app.  You would then be alerted as to when it is your turn to travel to Batuu.  However, I think it is unlikely that you will need to worry about joining a boarding group.  So far, crowd levels at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge have been very reasonable, and the boarding group system was only needed during the first couple of days that the land was open to guests.  It is worth noting that travelers with reservations for an experience within Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge may enter the land up to one hour before their reservation time if the land happens to reach capacity.

Wishing you a vacation of galactic proportions!
