Planning 3rd visit to WDW in 2014. When does the Christmas season start? thinking the week of Thanksgivng. Any suggestions? Just came home on 10/28/13 loved Halloween. Hoping for free dining again, we love it. so addicted to Can't wait for 2014

    Hi Margaret!

Walt Disney World starts decorating for Christmas in November.  Magic Kingdom is typically decorated first so that it's all ready for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

The week of Thanksgiving is typically a very busy time, as is Christmas and New Year's week.  If you want to enjoy the 'spirit of the season' without the crowds, I would suggest the week before Thanksgiving, or the first two weeks in December.  Either one of these times will increase your chances of being able to snag a free dining promotion.

I'm so happy to see you've caught the Disney Mania!

    Have a magical vacation!
