Hello, I am planning to visit WDW in August of 09 for the first time and was wondering if you have to make reservations at the restaurants in the theme parks or do you just walk in ?

Years ago, I only made a few Advance Dining Reservations and then we just used quick service restaurants and walked in to table service meals.

In recent years, it has been increasingly important to make ADRs in advance of your vacation at Walt Disney World. One reason restaurants are booked ahead of time is due to the Disney dining plan. In order to get their money's worth from the plan, guests book their table service meals in advance. Also, guests are more savvy about planning a WDW vacation and want their dream vacation to be as wonderful as possible. Advance planning is the key!

Since you are making your first trip to WDW in August, I would highly suggest making any ADRs for sit down restaurants in the theme parks, resorts or Downtown Disney.

For quick service meals, where you order your meal and find your own table (think fast food), you will just walk in.

Check out the dining section at AllEarsNet.com for a view of the menus!
