We are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort in June, and would like to spend a day at one of the water parks. We are traveling with teens, tweens and a toddler and I am wondering which water park would be most enjoyable for everyone in our party

    Hi Corie,

Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. We on the planDisney panel love helping guests to plan magical Disney vacations!

My family loves a day at a Disney water park as a part of our Walt Disney World Vacation! We find that a day at a water park can be refreshing, relaxing, and fun. We have been to both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park as well as Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, and I am happy to help you consider which one would be a good choice for your family.

It sounds like you have many ages of children traveling with you. My teenage daughter loves both the thrills and relaxation at both Disney water parks. For the littler ones, the good news is that there are areas created specifically for them at each water park. At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Ketchakiddie Creek was designed for the youngest guests to splash and play all day. At Disney's Blizzard Beach, the area for the youngest ones, Tike's Peak, is now themed to Frozen, with nods to Olaf, the Snowgies, and other Frozen fun.

For the older children, at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon they might enjoy the gentle thrill of Crush 'n' Gusher, a coaster-type ride. If you head to Disney's Blizzard Beach, there is Winter Summerland Miniature Golf nearby. While this is a separate entrance fee, it can be a fun additional activity for your water park day.

I think that both Disney water parks are very fun for families, and the choice of which one to visit can come down to which theme is most appealing to your family. My family tends to choose Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. We enjoy the tropical theme, and the somewhat sprawling feeling of this water park makes us feel relaxed and unhurried. That said, if your smallest ones love Frozen, or if the idea of miniature golf is appealing to you, head to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park.

I hope that these thoughts were helpful for you, Corie! Please do come back and visit us at planDisney if you have any further questions in planning your Walt Disney World vacation!
