We are planning to visit Walt Disney World Florida, next June. Can you bring a hard sided cooler into the park? Thanks

    Hiya Pam,

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your cooler question! I think it’s a super brilliant idea to bring a cooler into the parks—it’s a great way to keep your water icy cold and to have snacks handy for the whole crew.

Now, let’s dive right into the details! You’ll be glad to know that hard-sided coolers are allowed, as long as they follow Walt Disney World’s size guidelines. Coolers, bags, or backpacks larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) aren’t permitted in the theme parks or water parks. If your cooler fits within those dimensions, you’re all set! Just keep in mind:

    • Coolers aren’t allowed inside indoor venues.
    • Loose or dry ice is a no-go, but reusable ice packs work perfectly (and last longer, too).
Since you’ll be visiting in June, I’ll share a few bonus tips for staying comfy in the Florida sun. Definitely pack sunscreen (you’ll thank yourself later), a reusable water bottle so you can fill up at the water bottle refill stations (located on your My Disney Experience App), and a poncho—just in case Tía Pepa decides to let her storm clouds roll in.

Pam, I hope this helps as you get ready for your magical trip! If any other questions pop up while you’re planning, come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
    Christina
