I am planning to visit theMagic Kingdom on 12/23 and staying at the Dolphin. I am reading that the park is really busy that time and preference to getting into the park will be to those staying on property. Does this include guest staying at Dolphin?

    Hi Elizabeth!

This is a great question and "yes", some preference is given to those staying in the Walt Disney World Swan or Dolphin hotel.

A theme park basically gets shut down in stages.  First, Disney Cast Members who just want to enter for fun (as opposed to working) will be denied entrance.  After that the parking lot will be shut down and only guests arriving via Disney transportation will be allowed to enter, etc., etc.

As a guest of the Walt Disney World Dolphin you are staying on property, though not in a Disney owned and operated hotel, and will be arriving to the Magic Kingdom via Disney transportation.  Still, you should plan on being in the parks early and definitely by mid-morning.  If you really want to be in a specific park, then I suggest not leaving.  That said, historically the Magic Kingdom is the first park to run into capacity problems on a busy day.  Epcot, on the other hand, almost never closes.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
