Hi there Ankush, and a warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
There's something really comforting about planning ahead for a trip down to Florida as the temperature continues to dip up in Ontario, and when the wintery weather sets in it seems like so many Canadians start planning ahead for their spring getaways and March Break adventures! I love being able to help fellow Canucks strategize and visit Walt Disney World Resort in the smartest way possible to take advantage of
special room or ticket offers exclusive to Canadian residents and also avoid diving into the busiest times of the year.
As someone who is very frequently at the theme parks I'm happy to lend some insight based on what I've observed and the data collected by tracking wait times throughout the year and since it looks like you indicated that you're visiting
EPCOT specifically, a lot of my tips and personal recommendations here will be based on what you might expect there (but also apply to the other theme parks while you're here):
- One of the biggest things to be mindful of is Spring Break when Floridian school-aged children are out of school, and based on the local academic calendars this looks like both the third and fourth weeks of March will be prime time for an influx of kids and their families. Personally, Spring Break is one of those times of the year that I'd try to avoid avoid as much as possible; one of the things that has a tendency to coincide with very busy periods are days when Annual Passholders are "blocked out" on their Admission Calendar and this is the week in March that seems to be consistent with that. (At the beginning of the month, Mardi Gras is also a very popular time for families and kids and can definitely contribute to busier theme parks and longer waits as a result!)
- When it comes to EPCOT specifically, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival definitely is the busiest in the first few days and has begun in the first week of March in recent years. This brings out a lot of eager locals, influencers and vloggers coming to check out all of the newest Disney Eats and experiences before everyone else - especially on the evenings and weekends.
- With all of this in mind, I'd personally recommend the second week of March and aim for the weekdays when visiting the theme parks while bracing for an increase of large groups of youths loudly sharing their excitement in the weekend of March 8-9 for the UCA All Star National Championship and the days following. (It also tends to be exceptionally popular during this time of the year for cheerleading teams to occupy chunks of the Value Resort Hotels and this could be something to keep in mind if you're looking for a more restful experience - especially at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort.) If you can anticipate those days, you can avoid getting caught behind a horde of happy teens and pre-teens if that's something that will affect your trip!
I hope that this helps, Ankush! While it's always interesting to predict the best days to visit, we can never really be sure what fellow guests trends will be like each year and make strategies based on the previous year's observations. You're always welcome to return to planDisney again soon for any more answers or advice ahead of your vacation!
Here's to clever Canadians everywhere heading to Disney Destinations this spring!
