Heya, hiya, Clinton! Welcome to planDisney!
Your trip is coming up in just under two months—how exciting! October is one of my favorite times to visit the Disneyland Resort because
Halloween Time brings an extra layer of magic to every corner of the parks. If you loved your time at Walt Disney World Resort, you’re going to fall head over ears for the charm of Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom—Disneyland Park—especially when it’s decked out in its seasonal best.
You’re exactly right—the
My Disney Experience app at Walt Disney World uses the Family & Friends list to help keep everyone in your party connected. At the Disneyland Resort, things work a little differently, but don’t worry—it’s just as easy to keep your group together. All you need to do is link each Guest’s ticket in the
Disneyland mobile app. To do this, simply tap the menu (☰) button at the bottom right, then select “My Tickets & Passes”. Then, press the blue plus (+) sign at the top right and choose “Link Tickets & Passes”. Once your group’s tickets are linked, you’ll be able to make
Lightning Lane selections together, so your party can zoom off to your favorite attractions at the same time!
As for capturing those magical memories,
Disney PhotoPass service has you covered. If you’re using a
MagicBand+, your PhotoPass photographer can simply scan it and your photos will magically appear in the Disneyland app. Otherwise, they’ll be happy to scan your unique PhotoPass code in the app. To find it, just open the app, tap the plus sign at the bottom of the screen, and select “Link PhotoPass Photos.” From there, tap “Show PhotoPass Code” and let your photographer give it a little pixie-dusted scan. Sometimes they’ll hand you a PhotoPass card as well—you can link that on the same screen by choosing “Link PhotoPass Card.” From there, it’s easy to download and share photos with your group via text or email.
And don’t forget about those attraction photos! After your thrill ride is complete, stop by the photo preview screens near the exit. Jot down the photo ID number—or better yet, snap a quick picture of it with your phone—and link it in the app so it can join the rest of your memory-making moments.
Since you’ll be visiting during Halloween Time, be sure to take in the seasonal delights like
Haunted Mansion Holiday, where Jack Skellington gives the classic attraction a festive Nightmare Before Christmas twist. You’ll also find frightfully fun décor all around the resort, along with
delicious treats and other limited-time goodies that make October visits truly special.
Clinton, with your tickets linked, your Lightning Lane passes ready to go, and plenty of spooky-sweet surprises waiting for you, you’re all set for an enchanting visit. I hope you and your family have a hauntingly happy time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
