Hi, Dawn!
I’m happy to hear you’re planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort this winter. The holiday season is one of my favorite times to enjoy all the special extras the theme parks and resort hotels have to offer that time of year. The seasonal decorations, events, attractions and treats make “The Most Magical Place on Earth” even more delightful!
Christmas decorations usually begin popping up around the Walt Disney World Resort on Nov. 1. The holiday decor is gradually added at night when the parks are closed and is largely complete at Magic Kingdom Park by the first
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party evening (which was during the second weekend of November last year). The resort hotels and other theme parks are typically fully decorated by Thanksgiving weekend, so while there will be some decorations up for a mid-November visit, the holiday festivities won’t quite be in full swing until a week or two later.
If it’s important for you to visit when all of the decorations are completed, early December is also a great time to go. Crowds are generally lighter, especially the week after Thanksgiving. By mid-December, park attendance begins to pick up and crowds are the heaviest by Christmas week.
I hope this information is helpful, Dawn, and that you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World. Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
