We are planning our visit next week and staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter but now considering changing to the Port Orleans Riverside. I'm not sure which our 2 boys, ages 9 & 11 would like better. Are the "royal rooms" available?

    Hi Lynda!

I have stayed at both Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside and I really like them both, but I would recommend keeping your reservations at French Quarter because I am sure that your two boys will love it.  Port Orleans French Quarter is a smaller sized Resort and it has an awesome pool.  Port Orleans Riverside Resort occupies a large land area and it is so big that there are four bus stops around the Resort.  If you stay at Port Orleans Riverside, you most likely will do much more walking to get to your room and the main building which houses the two restaurants.  French Quarter does share the same Disney buses as Riverside, but French Quarter is the first pick up stop when guests are heading to the parks.  The Royal Rooms will not be ready for guests until the spring of 2012.  Those rooms look amazing in pictures so maybe you will have to book another Walt Disney World vacation just to have the opportunity to stay in a Royal Room!

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is filled with magic and memories!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
