I am planning to visit Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in October. I realized the parades are not taking place and fireworks are reduced. A huge part of my planning depends on this. Is there any chance of knowing when will they start?

Hi Alisha, and welcome to planDisney!

Like you, I love the parades, nighttime spectaculars, and entertainment offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort. They are the magical moments that make my vacations so special and memorable, and I love sharing that feeling with my favorite people. I know that for those of us who love Disney entertainment, planning around showtimes is important, and I'm happy to help as you think through what will be available when you visit this October.

While parades have not yet returned, my family was charmed by the character cavalcades that appear throughout the day in the theme parks. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, your favorite characters from beloved Disney shows and movies zoom and march through the streets - my son and I were dancing our hearts out to the Green Army Men's music. At Magic Kingdom Park, you might see a royal princess processional, Mickey and friends dancing atop a float, or other favorites. It's so much fun to catch a cavalcade as you explore the park! While there are not posted showtimes for the cavalcades, a Cast Member may be able to help you if there's a certain one you'd like to catch.

I am bursting with excitement to share the news that you'll be able to see nighttime spectaculars at Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios this October. In Magic Kingdom Park, Disney Enchantment debuts October 1, 2021, as part of The World's Most Magical Celebration for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Wonderful World of Animation features projections on the Chinese Theater and some fireworks to celebrate 90 years of movie magic. Showtimes for Disney Enchantment appear on the Park Hours Calendar, but it looks like we're still waiting for Wonderful World of Animation, so keep checking.

Alisha, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news about new and returning offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort. October will be a perfect time for a visit, with spooky season in full swing and the 50th anniversary festivities throughout the parks and resorts. As you continue to make your plans, your friends here at Disney are happy to help if you have any more questions. Have a BLAST!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
