Planning to visit Magic Kingdom on a day that Mickeys Halloween party is scheduled. Do we need event tickets in addition to our park tickets? If you do need both event and park tickets, if we decided to not do the halloween party do we have to leave by 7?

    Hiya Casey,

Welcome to planDisney! We are so excited to be able to help you plan your upcoming visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth during the spooky season. I always love visiting during the fall; the temperature is fantastic, and the fall decorations at Magic Kingdom are some of my favorites (check out their Mickey pumpkin wreaths while you're there).

I'm glad that you are being proactive and asking about Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This event is one of my family's must-dos when we visit in the fall. Our toddler has been practicing "trick or treating" all year in preparation for it. As you have pointed out, Mickey's Not-So-Scary affair is a separately ticketed event, so even if you have theme park tickets for Magic Kingdom for that day, you will need an additional ticket to stay for the party. The party begins at 7 PM ET, and if you do not have a valid event ticket for that night, you will be asked to leave when Magic Kingdom closes at 6 PM ET to non-party Guests. If you're able to get tickets, I 100% recommend it. With your ticket, you get to enjoy attractions with shorter waits, trick or treat, and exclusive event entertainment like my personal favorite, Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade!

I hope this was helpful, Casey, and you have all you need to plan your Magic Kingdom Day. Before I let you go, I wanted to share a tip with you. I mentioned that my family loves doing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so we do it quite frequently. Since you can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 PM on the party day, we like to save our regular theme park ticket for a different park that day. We will usually start our day at Animal Kingdom or EPCOT and then head back to our resort to let our Mouseketeers play at the pool, eat, and nap before heading to Magic Kingdom at 4 PM. We can accomplish everything we want for the day from 4:00 PM to midnight using just the event ticket! If there's anything else we can do to help you here at planDisney, please don't hesitate to let us know. There is always room for one more question!

    Happy Planning,
