We are planning to visit in less than two weeks March 3-8!! I am having a hard time deciding what to pack. Pants or shorts? I am traveling with my husband and our two year old. Will it be too cold in the mornings and evenings for her to wear shorts?

    Hi Marie!

Your trip will be here before you know it!  Are you too excited to sleep yet?

My friends always laugh at me because I pack everything but the kitchen sink when I travel.  The average high temperature in March is in the upper 70s and the average lows is in the mid-50s.  Keep in mind that these are averages. Be sure to check the 10 day forecast online before you finish your final packing. Being a southern girl, mid-50s is a little chilly for me so I'd throw in a pair of pants and a light jacket for the cooler mornings and evenings.

Here are a couple of things we do.  If its going to be a sunny day, the mornings usually warm up pretty quickly. We either put the kids in shorts or take a light blanket or beach towel to put over their legs.  Then we fold it and put it under the stroller or in our backpacks. We use it later to sit on while watching parades or when it starts to cool down in the evenings.

We always take a change of clothes in the parks for the boys. You never know when someone will spill something.  We put them in a gallon Ziploc and put it in the stroller or backpack. If its chilly in the morning, we put them in light pants to start and pack shorts in the Ziploc.  When it warms up, we change them into the shorts. If it cools down later, we can change them again. It doesn't take up that much room if you squish all of the air out of the Ziploc and we're prepared for whatever comes our way.
