Hiya Leslie,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for submitting your question to us!
I’m so excited you plan on returning to the Happiest Place on Earth! A lot has changed since 2019, but that is precisely what Walt Disney wanted - “Progress is impossible without change.” So here are some changes that have taken place since 2019 at the
Disneyland Resort.
In addition to theme park tickets, guests now also require a valid
theme park reservation to enter the parks. Park reservations guarantee the parks do not reach capacity and are required for each day you plan on visiting either
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park. You can review the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar before your visit to determine if there is availability on the dates you wish to visit. Even if you have a valid theme park ticket or purchase one at the ticket booths at the Disneyland Resort, you will not be admitted into the parks without a park reservation. Please note that with
Park Hopper, you only need to make a park reservation for the first park you visit, and then can begin hopping at 11:00 AM PST (hours subject to change).
Another change is the
Disneyland App. There have been several updates to the Disneyland App that make it user-friendly and will make you feel like the
Genie with “infinite cosmic power!” right at your fingertips. You can review park reservation availability, ticket availability,
park hours, character locations, and more right from the app! You can download the app from any app store and log into your Disney account to start using it today!
However, one thing that has not changed is the ability to purchase theme park tickets at the ticket booths at the Disneyland Resort. As long as the parks do not reach capacity, the Cast Members at the ticket booths will happily assist with ticket purchases. There is no guarantee that there will be tickets available, so I encourage you to check the app regularly before making the trek to the ticket booths. Then all that’s left is to enjoy your visit to the Disneyland Resort!
If you have other questions about the Disneyland Resort, remember - you’ve got a friend in me!
