Hi Eleanor!
The Walt Disney World water parks are fantastic for young kids! We have been bringing our two since they were babies and can assure you there is tons of fun to be had for younger fish.
Ketchakiddee Creek is Disney's Typhoon Lagoon's preschool area and has tons of smaller slides that are fantastic for all of your kids. There's a spray area with shallow water for them to play around in with water guns. My son's favorite attraction in this area is the mini rapids ride where they sit in their own inner-tube. You can watch them the whole time! The large sandy area is great for little fish who want to take a break from the water. Plan to arrive early to grab some chairs in this area.
Gangplank Falls is the family raft ride at Typhoon Lagoon. It seats up to 4 Guests, so your family will have to split. All ages can experience this attraction, so it's great fun for all!
The main attraction at Typhoon Lagoon is the
Surf Pool. For younger and less experienced swimmers, the shallow end of the pool is the place to be. Your jaw will drop when you see these waves form! I suggest starting out in ankle-knee deep waters at first. My kids loved to go a little further when they were younger as long as we were holding on to them. The
Storm Slides to the left of the Surf Pool are great for little kids as well and are blocked off from the big waves.
Please stop back by if you have any additional water park planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
