We are planning to visit in June and it’s the first time for our boys ages 9 and 6 and it’s been 20 years since my last visit! They love all things Disney, but especially Star Wars. I’d love recommendations for a few activities they might enjoy.

Welcome to planDisney, George! Thanks so much for sending me your question. I'm happy to help!

Your young Padawans will love Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios! If they are looking to join the Resistance, tell them to be on the lookout for Rey. Sometimes, you can find Chewbacca roaming around, doing his Wookie roar or photobombing pictures near the Millennium Falcon. Speaking of, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run is an exhilarating experience! You'll be assigned to be a pilot, gunner, or flight engineer while trying to complete a smuggling mission for Hondo Ohnaka; if you're prone to motion sickness like me, make sure you choose wisely when selecting your aviators for that "fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!" In Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance, your boys will become heroes of the Resistance in a climactic battle with the First Order. This attraction is set between Episodes 8 and 9 of the newest trilogy and is super popular, so it's a great candidate for an Individual Lightning Lane purchase.

The Droid Depot is the go-to spot for Jedi wanting to create their own mini BB-8 or R2-D2 to take home. Personality chips and accessories allow the Droid to interact with the land while they're there. It's truly an out-of-this-world souvenir, and I think the kids would enjoy it! Reservations can be made online and are highly recommended.

If you work up an appetite, head to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo for some galactic grub. This is a "quick service" type restaurant, so no reservations are needed. My kids' favorite menu item is the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip (which is really crispy chicken served with macaroni & cheese). Another fun place to visit is the Milk Stand, which sells only Blue and Green Milk. The "milk" is plant-based (coconut and rice) and has a thick, creamy consistency (I'm definitely on team Blue Milk). Sometimes, parents need a little treat, too. My husband and I love Oga's Cantina, where they offer some truly original thirst-quenching concoctions, but kids are welcome here, too. This watering hole requires reservations, so I recommend making one 60 days before your trip.

I hope you enjoy your galactic journey to Walt Disney World Resort this summer, George! Please feel free to write back with more trip planning questions. May the Force Be With You!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
