Planning to visit for the first time in Oct. One 8 year child. Would you recommend Caribbean resort or Port Orleans? Also do you recommend a dining plan?

My personal favorite of the two is Port Orleans Riverside, Rhonda.  I find it to be a really charming place with gorgeous grounds and a ton of recreational opportunities that kiddos love.  My girls are especially fond of the main themed pool there.  Honestly, though, both resorts are very similar.  Both are quite large and offer a table-service restaurant as well as an extensive food court.  Both qualify as moderate resorts and offer similar transportation.  It might just come down to personal preference.  Do you prefer a laid-back, beachy feel or more of a down-home woodsy charm?  Go with your gut and save the alternate resort for next time.
