Ragena:
Congratulations on your upcoming trip, and thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!
Without knowing your accommodations and whether you'll have a kitchen, I'd say to seriously consider the
Basic Dining Plan for your family, and then ask yourself:
- Do we want to experience several Character Meals? If yes, one Character meal can pay for a child's entire plan for the day.
- Would we like a table-service meal that will allow us to sit, relax, and create memories for the family around a fun dining experience? If yes, the Basic Dining Plan will help you save up to 40% according to Disney over paying out-of-pocket from the menu.
- Will I stick to the dining plan, and therefore, my up-front budget? If yes, you won't have hidden food costs that pinch your souvenir budget--everyone needs a pair of Mickey ears!
In my opinion, the deluxe plan includes a lot of food, especially if you have children. The Quick Service plan doesn't add up to the value of the Basic plan.
If you'd like to do a little more research on the menus and cost, visit www.allears.net and click on Dining. You'll find menus--and prices--for most WDW dining locations!
Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
