We were planning to visit Disneyland starting on March 18th, 2020. I purchased 2 tickets, for my son and I. Unfortunately we were not able to go due to the park closure. If and how can I get a refund for the tickets I purchased as we can’t go this year.

    Hey Isabel!

    Welcome to planDisney!

I hope this new year has been good to you so far! Like most of us, I miss the theme parks and the Magic that comes from visiting the Happiest Place on Earth! I’m so sorry to hear that you were not able to make your March trip last year. Had I known my last visit to the Disneyland Resort would have been my last for a while, I would have had an extra Dole Whip! I’m looking ahead to a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow when the parks begin to welcome us back again and I know the Magic is waiting for us when we can safely return to all the fun.

The Disneyland Resort recently updated their policy on expired/ expiring tickets and is not providing refunds for unused tickets at this time. Most tickets expired/ expiring tickets have been extended through December 16, 2021. Check to see if your tickets fall into one of these categories. You mentioned that you are not able to visit this year. In most cases, the paid value of expired tickets can be used towards the purchase of a new ticket if the price has increased. So if you were to wait and visit in 2022, you would most likely be able to apply the value paid of your current tickets to new tickets. If you’re looking for an alternative option you can try calling Ticket Services to see if there’s anything else they can do for you.

Well Isabel, I hope you found this information useful and feel free to come back with any other questions.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
