Hello Gimbal,
Thanks for bringing your questions to planDisney! I’m sure you don’t want to bring anything that can’t be used when you are traveling such a long distance, so I’m glad you stopped by for extra information.
I checked both the Official
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules and the Official
Disneyland Resort Property Rules for guidelines on what you can bring to the park. Both rules state that selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices, tripods or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack or extend over 6’ (182 cm) are prohibited in any theme parks or water parks. If your gimbal meets these guidelines, you should be allowed to bring it into the park, however, it is up to the discretion of the security Cast Members at that time.
I spoke with a Cast Member regarding using your gimbal while on an attraction and was told that you should ask the Cast Members at each attraction if your gimbal can remain in your hands during the attraction. For the safety of yourself and other guests, I assume that any fast-paced attraction will ask you to safely store your gimbal during the ride.
I hope this was helpful, Gimbal. Your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is coming up soon, so I recommend you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any new announcements about Disney Parks around the world! Don’t forget planDisney also has
Disneyland Resort specialists who can help answer your questions about your upcoming visit to Disneyland Resort!
