Hello, i am planning to visit disney world in May. i Want to know what is the minimum age for a children to go in a kiddie pool? For example Schoolyard Sprayground or shipwreck play area? My children will have 1.5 year.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Steve!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! In several months, you will be stepping into a place where every corner bursts with MAGIC and every day feels like a dream come true. We can't wait for you to be surrounded by laughter, music, and memories just waiting to happen. Get ready for a trip filled with pure joy, a little pixie dust, and plenty of unforgettable moments!

I have to say that May is "practically perfect in every way" to visit Disney World! The weather is warm, the flowers are in full bloom, and those pool days feel absolutely perfect. I can already picture your little one splashing, laughing, and enjoying those enchanting resort play areas—it’s going to be adorable!

Now, the great news is that Disney does not set a strict minimum age requirement for kids to enjoy kiddie pools, splash zones, or play areas, such as the Schoolyard Sprayground at Art of Animation or the Shipwreck Play Area at the Beach Club. These areas are designed specifically for the tiniest guests, and your little one is absolutely welcome to play there as long as they’re supervised by an adult at all times. Disney lifeguards keep a close eye on safety, but a parent or guardian must always stay close to small children.

As you plan your trip, I wanted to share a few important details with you. Children who aren’t toilet-trained will need to wear swim diapers, which are required in all Disney pools and splash zones. You’ll also want to bring a hat, sunscreen, and maybe some water shoes to protect those little feet from warm surfaces. And while every area is a bit different, most of these kiddie play zones are only a few inches deep or are splash-pad style, making them perfect for toddlers to explore and enjoy.

Oh, and be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date information regarding all things Disney. Mickey and his pals have some incredible things planned next year, and we don't want you to miss any of the FUN!

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
