I am planning to visit Disney World for the first time in October 2025. It will be just 2 adults. What are the best tips for first time visitors?

Hi there Danielle, it's great to see you back at planDisney!

Don't get me wrong - I'm a very proud Disney Uncle (or Duncle) myself, but in my opinion there can be so much more to enjoy when you're visiting the theme parks without any children in tow and it's definitely something I recommend for any grown-ups heading to their very first Walt Disney World Resort visit! Since my husband and I frequently head out to the theme parks on our own, here are my Top Tips and Princely Picks from the perspective of a fellow certified Disney Adult:

    • Be Smart and Find Ways to Save First! Before you begin planning any Walt Disney World Resort trip, the first things I always tell everyone to check are the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts and see if any are applicable to the dates you're planning on visiting. (These are updated throughout the year, so it's always good to check back often!)
    • Make the Most of being close to the Magic. For any first-timers just learning the lay of the land, staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is key to maximizing the use of the complimentary Resort Transportation that can take you safely to the theme parks and back. Having access to Early Theme Park Entry, as well as the ability to book Lightning Lane Passes for some of the most popular rides much sooner than other guests are two of the best perks to staying on Walt Disney World Resort property. The convenience that this brings to the whole Disney experience is something that I think is vital to making that first-time experience as seamless and stress-free as possible.
    • Head in Early, and Stay Out Late. Traveling with just the two of you and especially without kids means having the freedom to make all kinds of decisions without having to stick to their schedules! Take a look at the Hours & Events Calendar to get an idea of the October opening time that tend to remain consistent from year to year to "Rope Drop" each morning, and when families with little ones retire earlier for their bedtime you can really take advantage of those late evenings - especially if you're staying somewhere that makes you eligible for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. You definitely do not want to miss out on any of the nighttime spectaculars or fireworks each evening which are an incredibly iconic part of every visit, and make the most of every minute - keep in mind that Cast Members will allow you to hop in line for rides or attractions even in the minutes before closing time!
    • Take Advantage of Personalized planDisney Advice! There are just so many more tips we can share, so keep asking as many questions as you'd like from our team, for the most up-to-date knowledge and experiences - as well as our own views and honest opinions. Don't forget to check out our dedicated content on the Disney Parks Blog as well as Disney Eats to plan for your meals when you visit!
Wishing you the very best First-Timer trip next year!
