Hi there!! We are planning a visit to disney world during April 2015 my son will turn 4 in February and I wanted to ask you about the water parks in Disney World. Which one is better for my son's age, if both will be open during April 2015. Thank you

Hi Marian! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy to help you with your question!

I love traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with my four year old! I think it is such a great age to be there because they still are in such awe and are so amazed with all of the sights and sounds and experiences!

As an adult I really love to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. I love that I can snorkel; the wave pool is so much fun, and my favorite waterslide Crush “n” Gusher is at this park. They do have a kiddie section but to us this park is better for families with kids that are older.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Waterpark is my pick for incredible family fun! When the bus enters the drop off area, I love pointing out the snowcapped water slide Summit Plummet. They get excited when I tell them that this was once a ski resort but that the Florida heat has melted it into a “watery wonderland.”  In my opinion this water park is much more geared towards families. There are plenty of areas and attractions that do not have a height restriction. My kids love Tike's Peak. This area is polar-themed and has kid sized versions of the attractions at Blizzard Beach. There are even sandy areas surrounding Tikes Peak perfect for making sand castles! Another super fun attraction that we can enjoy together as a family is Teamboat Springs. This large inner-tube raft can hold 4-6 people and is likely to elicit belly laughs from everyone as you twist and turn down this insanely exciting water slide. It’s like your riding whitewater rapids, except the only work you have to do is hold on and giggle away! Melt-Away Bay is a family friendly one acre wave pool and I often feel like I have to drag the kids out of here kicking and screaming, that is how much they love it!

Soak up some sun for me!
