Hiya Laura,
Welcome to planDisney!
There is no better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World Resort. That is so special that you are planning a birthday trip for your sister’s 15th birthday. Anything I can do to help you plan will be my honor and privilege to do so.
After you book your Theme Park tickets, for me planning a birthday starts with the right combination of
Enchanting Extras,
advanced dining reservations, and
accommodations. Let’s begin with accommodations; if you haven’t already thought about it, I recommend staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel. If your sister has a favorite Disney movie, she could stay right in the middle of the Disney magic even when she isn’t on Main Street, U.S.A. For instance, I’m a massive Princess and the Frog fan, and when I got to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans-French Quarter, it was a dream for me. The delicate nods to Princess Tiana and New Orleans just made me feel extra special. On top of all that, I enjoyed extra time in the Theme Parks with lower crowds and got those all-important photos in front of the EARidescent Cinderella’s Castle unobstructed by tons of other Guests. One last perk of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is that you can have special birthday balloons and gift baskets sent to your sister’s room from
Disney Floral and Gifts, which will be an excellent way to add additional birthday magic.
One of my favorite ways to mark another magical year of life is with Enchanting Extras. Since the 15th birthday is in October, look into booking the
Halloween After Hours Event. Your sister may not be incredibly “spooky,” but I love these experiences. You and your entire family can come dressed up in costume, explore Magic Kingdom after hours (again with smaller crowds), enjoy free candy, limited-edition treats, ride attractions, and see unique event-specific entertainment. Every year I attend these events, I always leave feeling extra magical.
Speaking of magic, let’s talk dining. No trip is complete without great food and birthday cake. You can celebrate at select Disney Dining table service locations by having a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake marking your sister’s birthday brought to your table. If you are interested in doing this, I would highly recommend either pre-ordering by contacting a Cast Member at Disney’s Enchanting Extras line (407-939-7529) or while reserving your advanced dining reservations 60 days before your trip. One place I would love to recommend to you is
Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Besides having incredible food, the dining rooms are spectacular. You really feel like you are in the Beast’s Castle, and it is breathtaking.
Now I know this is a lot of recommendations in a short message. As you read through them, if there is any you want to learn more about or like the direction on but want more specifics of, please let
me know. I want to help you make this the best 15th birthday ever that lives up to your sister’s dreams, so I’m here.
Just know that whatever you decide to do, I’m sure that the time spent with you will be the most magical part of all.
Happy Planning!
