I am planning to visit Disney in Mar 2024. From when the Easter decorations and Easter celebrations and parade starts? Does it start from 2 weeks prior? Do they have Easter bunnies?

    Hello Madhusudan!

Welcome to planDisney! Planning a trip to Walt Disney World in the Spring is my favorite thing to do. I love the weather and the beauty of the Parks.  Cast Members of Disney Gardens and Landscaping work hard to recreate Walt's love of Tivoli Gardens Park in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is especially realized during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival which features gorgeous topiaries styled in the shapes of our favorite Disney characters. Springtime decor, blooms, and colors will be splendidly displayed throughout EPCOT in celebration of the season.

Easter is a lovely time to visit, however, it is not as grandly celebrated as Halloween and Christmas are. Decorations for Easter are limited and tend to just be around certain Walt Disney World Resort Hotels which have Easter egg decorating contests and displays. You may see some seasonal decorations around the Resorts and in special meet-and-greet areas. It can change year to year but Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Beach Club Resort tend to be repeat hosts to these lovely decorations.

Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny do make an appearance around this time but for the 2024 season, the dates are not known. There are two possible locations that they have appeared in Magic Kingdom Park over the years which are possibilities for 2024. They include an area near Liberty Square or near City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. There is a chance they show up just for Easter weekend which is March 30 and 31 in 2024 so if you come in the weeks before you may miss them. The Easter parade is a cute parade that precedes the amazing Festival of Fantasy Parade in Magic Kingdom Park. It tends to only occur during Easter weekend as well. If you arrive during Easter weekend, make sure to check on your My Disney Experience Mobile App for times or speak with a Cast Member.

A fun activity that will probably start a few weeks before Easter weekend is the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt in EPCOT. My family had a chance to experience it before Easter weekend and it was a lot of fun to hunt for the character-inspired eggs hidden in World Showcase. You can find the scavenger hunt game card at various merchandise locations in the Park such as World Traveler, Creations Shop, and Port of Entry. Head to the registers and speak with the Cast Members so you can purchase the game card and check out the prizes that go with it. Now, traditionally the prize is earned when the scavenger hunt is completed but with my kids that rarely occurs as we just get tired. Did you know that you can take your prize at the time of purchase of the game card? I always do this and hide it in my Park bag so that I have it ready when we leave EPCOT. It guarantees less time waiting in line and we get the prize we want. I have found that sometimes highly coveted prizes can run out so grab it while you can.

As always, I suggest that for all the latest news visit the Disney Parks Blog. Updates for Easter snacks and special events will be posted there a bit closer to the date.

I do hope this helps and you have a fabulous time. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Happy Planning!
