Greetings, Kirendeep,
I'm so sorry to hear of this unfortunate circumstance. The same thing happened to us for our Disneyland Resort visit just last week as well as for a special New Year's Eve celebration holiday in December. But we were still able to make it work out both times. I’ll be glad to share our secrets with you. February 14 does happen to be an especially popular day to visit the Disneyland Resort. So I can’t guarantee success for you. Though, I do hope these tips help a bit.
The first thing to do is to simply keep checking. The
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar may show varied openings from time to time. You never know when other Guests may need to cancel their reservations. I recommend watching the calendar like a hawk, especially on the day before, as many cancellations are last-minute decisions. This approach is what my family used for our visit last week. I was very grateful when a reservation opened up. You better believe I grabbed it as quickly as I could!
Another possibility is to check for availability using different
theme park ticket types. For example, there have been times when a 1 Park Per Day Ticket has no more available reservations but a Park Hopper Ticket does. If you have flexibility in selecting a different ticket type, that also may help. A Park Hopper ticket may still allow you to visit both parks, even If reservations for only one theme park are available. Though park hopping may be subject to overall park capacity limits, those limits are separate from reservation availability.
Finally, if you are a Guest of one of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels, you have access to theme park reservation inventory that is set aside
exclusively for on-site hotel Guests. We used this approach for our New Year's Eve holiday. We booked a split stay, with a few nights at a Disneyland Resort
Good Neighbor Hotel followed by two nights at the Disneyland Hotel. We were able to book
theme park reservations for the day of the special celebration and enjoy a stay at our favorite Disneyland Resort Hotel. It was a double win for us! To take advantage of this benefit, make sure your hotel reservation or
Vacation Package confirmation number is linked with your Disneyland Resort online account and choose the hotel guest option
when making theme park reservations.
While I hope one of these approaches happens to help out, there are some possible alternatives to consider as well. There are many dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities at the
Downtown Disney District and the Disneyland Resort Hotels. My recommendation would be a fun
character dining experience at
Goofy's Kitchen or
Storytellers Cafe. And, of course, there are many exciting
Southern California attractions and activities to enjoy.
Thanks for your question here at planDisney, Kirendeep. I hope you have a magical Disneyland Resort holiday.
