Hi G,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for continuing to trust us with your planning questions.
The Holidays are a really big deal at the Disneyland Resort, but one celebration that should not be missed is
¡Viva Navidad! over at Disney California Adventure Park. This is a wonderful celebration of Latin culture and the Christmas season.
One of the staple parts of the celebration is the
¡Viva Navidad! Street Party. The Three Caballeros host this colorful event, which typically includes folklórico dancers, mariachis, and even Brazilian samba dancers.
Currently, the Disneyland website’s description of the event says that the ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party takes place on Saturdays and Sundays. However, there are no additional details yet about whether these will be the only days it runs or what time the parade will take place.
Typically, the Disneyland Resort releases its daily schedule about six weeks in advance. Since we’ve just hit the six-week mark for the start of the celebration on November 15, I recommend checking the daily entertainment schedule in a couple of weeks for a better sense of when the Street Party will take place. You can access the calendar on both the Disneyland website and the
Disneyland mobile app for the most up-to-date information.
From my own personal experience, I definitely saw the Three Caballeros in the parade. Later in the day, they were also available for a meet-and-greet in Paradise Garden. I suggest using the Disneyland app to track character appearances when you arrive at the park. When you launch the app, tap the map icon and select the “Characters” tab at the top. For easier browsing, switch to List View in the bottom-right corner. This really cuts out the guesswork of trying to figure out when the trio will be out to say hi to guests.
I hope this information is helpful, G! If you have any other questions or need more planning tips, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’d be happy to sprinkle a little holiday magic onto your planning.
Feliz Navidad!
