Hi, I am planning to visit and my daughter has several allergies. The most frustrating allergy is rapeseed/vegetable oil, which means she is unable to eat anything that is cooked in this oil. Are alternative oils able to be provided?

    Hiya Thomas,

Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited that you are here and that I get to be a part of planning your visit with your daughter. I’m sure the two of you will have a fantastic time making memories together!

As a parent myself, I know there are so many things that you spend energy thinking about when it comes to your children. Having to worry about making sure the food she consumes is safe is, I’m sure, an added stressor. Luckily, everything that I know and have experienced at Walt Disney World Resort has shown me that there is no better place for dining with food allergies. I was unable to confirm which oils Walt Disney World Resort dining locations use for cooking, as each location has different food-preparation needs. Luckily, I do have a solution for you. The Special Diets team at Walt Disney World Resort is incredible, and they work to ensure that all Guests can navigate table-service dining with allergies, food intolerances, religious dietary restrictions, and other specific special diets. There is no guarantee that every dining experience can be tailored for the needs of every guest, but what they can do is help you figure out what modifications, if any, can be made, and even what locations will be the best for your daughter’s dietary needs. You can reach out to them 14 days prior to your arrival via email, and they are a fantastic resource to help you and your daughter focus on the magic of your trip.

I hope this was helpful, Thomas. Before I let you go, did you know that you can ask to speak to a chef at quick-service and table-service dining locations about your child’s dietary requests? If you aren’t able to speak to the Special Diets team before your trip, the chef is your next best bet! The chef can help you customize dining options within the current menu (where they can) and even provide alternatives if needed, and they are able to. If there is anything else you need, please come back and see us, Thomas. We want to make sure that you and your family have the very best vacation ever, so we are here to help.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
