We are planning a visit in 2022 & cannot decide on dates - either Easter or arriving on May 18th. In terms of crowds & weather, which would you recommend? We were hoping to book a dining plan, but notice this is not an option. Is this forever?

Hello, again Joanne, and thanks so much for returning to planDisney with another great question for me!

I'm sure you've had plenty of time to check out the hints and tips provided in my previous planDisney answer, and of course, it makes perfect sense for you now be to pondering when is the best time of yEar for your family to visit the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.  Making these all-important decisions is part of the natural process of planning a highly successful holiday which your whole family can enjoy together.

Spring at Walt Disney World Resort is a gorgeous time to visit!  Apart from the usual more temperate weather Florida generally experiences early in the yEar, another reason I like exploring Disney in the spring is for A Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival which takes place on select dates from March until July.

Easter Sunday 2022 is set to be celebrated on 17th April, and typically Guests can expect to see Mr & Mrs Easter Bunny hopping around the Magic Kingdom Park!  Also, in yEars gone-by there have been Easter Egg displays and lots of egg-cellent Easter treats on offer as described in this past Disney Parks Blog article - Foodie Guide to Easter 2019 at Walt Disney World & Disneyland Park.  My only caveat to you experiencing Walt Disney World Resort for the very 1st time during Easter is that crowd levels potentially could be higher than average as of course, Easter is an internationally recognised Holiday.

My family and I have spent several mid-to-late May holidays in Orlando and, apart from Autumn-time at Walt Disney World Resort, May is our favourite month to holiday in Orlando!  Typically in May, the weather can be hot but does not suffer the high humidity or intense heat of the summer months.  One Public Holiday you might wish to bear in mind is Memorial Day which is celebrated each yEar on the last Monday of May.  Although, I have to say we've loved seeing all the U.S flags for Memorial Day and witnessing how wonderfully all U.S Veterans are both commemorated and thanked for their military service.

And lastly, I truly wish I had some news to share on Dining Plans, but at this time I don't have any updates on its return.  However, on a positive note, in my past experience, it has been possible to add Dining Plans to existing bookings!  To keep up to date with all Disney-related news and announcements including any updates on the Dining Plan, I can highly recommend keeping an Ear on the Disney Parks Blog.

Joanne, I feel quite sure that whatever month of yEar is finally decided upon, you'll enjoy a zip-a-dee-doo-dah time experiencing everything that's on offer at Walt Disney World Resort!

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
