Planning to visit Blizzard Beach during our upcoming vacation. Kids are 16 and 12. What will the mask requirements be for rides? Also, my wife is thinking about renting a cabana. What are your thoughts?

Heigh-ho, Robert! It's off to Walt Disney World you go in just a few short weeks. Let the countdown to fun begin! I'm happy to talk about one of my favorite places to chill out - the Disney Water Parks.

I was so excited to hear the announcement that Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is set to reopen in March of this year. We had plans to visit last April and have been keeping our eyes on the Disney Parks Blog ever since, waiting to reschedule our splash-tacular day. We don't yet know all the rules regarding facial coverings and other health and safety measures in place for the reopening, (Disney will release details at a later time), so I recommend keeping your eyes on the Know Before You Go page for the latest information. Currently, face masks must be worn at all times unless dining in a stationary, physically distant location or enjoying the swimming pools at the Resort Hotels. My family plans to hit the slopes at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park as soon as it opens, and I'll be watching right along with you to see how Disney will be keeping Guests and Cast Members safe.

I have been fortunate enough to enjoy three Disney Resort Hotel stays since the parks reopened last July, and I have been thoroughly impressed with all precautions and cleaning protocols in place. Cast Members make sure that poolside lounge chairs are placed in groups separated by at least six feet, and these chairs are cleaned in between Guest use. We visit the Disney Water Parks nearly every spring and always find plenty of lounge chairs in our desired location; this time of year is considered "off-peak" for the water parks and is usually not overly busy despite a bustling spring break crowd in the theme parks.

The Polar Patios offer an additional amount of privacy that sounds ideal for the current pandemic situation. If you are looking for an extra bit of isolation as well as seating, shade, and other amenities for your family, reserving one will make for an especially relaxing and luxurious water park day. Polar Patios are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked by calling (407) 939-7529. I think 2021 will be the perfect year to try a Polar Patio!

Robert, I hope you and your family have a wonderful spring getaway to the Most Magical Place on Earth. We all need a little pixie dust these days, and I'm certain you will find Walt Disney World to be a safe and enjoyable escape. If you have any more questions before you set off on your adventure, stop by and see us again; we're all ears!

Wishing you a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,
    Betsy
