Jambo Irenka!
Thank you so much for sending us your question, and welcome to planDisney, the wildest place on the internet! Since my first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom has always been my favourite park. Indeed, I can still remember walking into Discovery Island and seeing the Tree of Life for the first time. I even remember our first meal on Disney property: a pulled pork sandwich from Flame Tree Barbecue. I have been obsessed with Disney's Animal Kingdom ever since, and I am so excited to be helping you plan your wild adventure today!
Now, Irenka, I completely understand why you want to visit the park at night. Not only does the
Tree of Life come to life with touching stories, but Pandora's bioluminescent wildlife is an attraction in and of itself! I always love walking around
Pandora - The World of Avatar at night and looking at all the plants and small details. You are correct that, unfortunately, depending on when the park closes, you might not be able to see those nighttime offerings. However, theme park opening hours are subject to change and might not be the same by the time you come to visit. In fact, Disney just released extended park hours for the month of March a few days ago, so I would not lose hope! To be as up-to-date as possible on theme park news, I would recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog website as they are typically the first to report on these types of changes.
Once you have planned your park days, make sure to look into booking a dining reservation. Depending on your taste and budget, Disney's Animal Kingdom is sure to have a dining option that will make your experience extra special.
Tusker House Restaurant, for example, is a family-style restaurant with African-infused meal options. Plus, you might even get to see some special guests all prepared for their wild adventures! Over in Asia,
Yak and Yeti Restaurant offers incredibly delicious pan-Asian meals that are sure to wow you. I am practically drooling just thinking about those Ahi Tuna Nachos! Lastly, if you are looking for a more elevated experience, I cannot recommend
Tiffins Restaurant enough. With its decor inspired by the history of the park and its life-changing offerings (and I mean literally life-changing - I will never be able to eat another dry falafel in my life,) Tiffins Restaurant is a must-do on my list. No matter your preferences, I am sure that you will love any of these restaurants, and you might even get a glimpse of a lit-up Tree of Life if your reservation is late enough!
I hope this was helpful, Irenka, and that your and your loved ones will have the best safari ever on your upcoming visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, don't hesitate to reach out. Now here at planDisney, we don't like to say goodbye because that is way too sad and way too final, so instead I will tell you "kwaherini" which is Swahili for "go well!"
Have a magical day,
Ariane
