Giraffes at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

    We were planning to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge on our check in day just to explore the resort, check out the savanna as well as dine at the quick-service Mara. We will have our own car, are we able to just park at the resort without a reservation?

    I hope you’re getting excited for your trip to Walt Disney World! 

    Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the best hotels at which to eat and explore. My kiddos and I adore seeing the animals and playing at the Hakuna Matata Playground. 

    Parking at Disney Resort Hotels is reserved for Guests with rooms at that hotel and Guests with dining reservations. We love dining at Boma - Flavors of Africa… in fact it is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! I would highly recommend adding it to your arrival day explorations! 

    If you’re wanting to stick with The Mara (an incredible choice, as well) you’ll need to take transportation from your home Resort to make your way to Animal Kingdom Lodge. While you may have to mix and match modes of transportation, it may add to the adventure! If you need help with marking your course to The Mara, the concierge at your Resort’s front desk will be able to help you further!
